This project is to test the effect of different animation styles on the gameplay and the player. Having pressed the right number on the keyboard to choose a particular art style and version, you can freely jump, and run through a simple level to test the basics of a platformer.

The Style and Versions mentioned are references to how I have organised the animations in the Questionaire.

From the Title Screen:

  • Press '1' on the keyboard to play as Style A version 1
  • Press '2' on the keyboard to play as Style A version 2
  • Press '3' on the keyboard to play as Style B version 1
  • Press '4' on the keyboard to play as Style B version 2
  • Press '5' on the keyboard to play as Style C version 1
  • Press '6' on the keyboard to play as Style C version 2

Style A = 8 Bit, Style B = 16 Bit, Style C = Cartoony

Each version of a style is either smoother or choppier enchancements to the animation style to test whether this is better for the gameplay.


Controls in Level:

  • Press 'A' on the keyboard to move left
  • Press 'D' on the keyboard to move right
  • Press 'S' on the keyboard to duck
  • Press 'W' on the keyboard to jump
  • Press 'Q' on the keyboard to return to Title Screen
